Basketball Started!
Ok, so my basketball season started last Monday. We are going to be pretty short. My tallest girl is 5'9". I'm in the process of getting them in shape. We ran a lot this week, now we can start getting to the real basketball. Our first game is two weeks from today. We have new plays to learn and a couple different new defenses to put into play. I'm planning on pressing and fast breaking the whole game, that is the only way we are going to be able to beat most the teams in our district. Ok then, I will keep the two people that check in at my blog updated with the outcome of my season. Yay! Basketball! Oh, and my Duke boys are 6-0!

So I Disappeared for Awhile...
A lot has happened since I last posted. And since no one really reads my blog, I'll keep this short:
-I moved
-I got a job coaching basketball
-I got a job at Starbucks
-I am still doing the athletic training thing, but only part time
-Girlfriend and I got a puppy from the pound
Ok, so maybe its not a lot, but it is a lot of change for me. Good change, but change nonetheless. I will try to keep you all updated with my basketball season. It starts in November. Ok then, I hope all is well in blog land.

Argh.
My friend is in the Air Force. About two years ago she found out she was being sent to Korea for a year and then she would be stationed in Hawaii. She had two cats and was looking for someone to watch them while she was in Korea and then ship them to her in Hawaii. Being the nice person I am, I told her I would watch them if she couldn't find anyone else. Of course I ended up with them. And then about a month ago it all fell apart. It ended up costing way more to get 'em to Hawaii then she had been told and had planned for. So now I got the pleasure of finding 'em a home. In the town where I live, there are lots of ads in the paper for free cats so I decided I would take them to a shelter. I really didn't want to, so I looked up one of the shelters that I had seen. It was a "no kill" shelter and there are more and bigger towns around this shelter so I decided to make the hour and half drive to drop them off. They pooped twice in their crate, I looked back and the older one was drooling uncontrollably. It was heart wrenching. I was good til I walked back out to the car to leave. As I drove away, I broke down a little. Now I am not an emotional person at all, I hate crying. But there I was driving away from the cats I really didn't like and wasn't horribly attached to. After a year and a half, I guess I got to like them a little. Still not a big cat person, and I'm not gonna miss their hair. I just hope they find a home where someone will love them and treat them right. I called my mom, she assured me they would find a good home. Dropping them off was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm a little mad at my friend (their owner) for putting me in that position. It sucked to say the least. And then to top it off, Duke lost their game today. My bracket is so screwed. Argh...

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
So Duke just pulled out a very narrow victory of one point over Belmont. For those of you who don't pay attention to college ball, Duke was a 2 seed and Belmont a 15 seed. The last time a 15 seed beat a 2 seed was 1991, I think that is what they said... If I am wrong, feel free to correct me in a comment. Anyway, it was very nerve wracking. I think I got a few gray hairs. But they pulled it out, so its all good. My bracket isn't all screwed to hell. Ok then, that is all.

Suprise Endings and Beginnings
My girls' basketball team ended up getting 2nd in State. It was quite amazing. I don't think anyone, not even themselves, was expecting to do that good. I didn't think they could even get out of Divisionals, but they surprised me and everyone else.
Because of their Championship game I didn't get to leave for my 'rents place til Sunday. I had to stop in Utah for the night and drive the rest of the way Monday. I was a little nervous to be heading there seeing as how I had written a letter about 3 weeks before to come out to them. I had gotten an email in response to the letter saying they were shocked and they weren't ready to deal with it long distance so when I got there we would have a chat about it. I was not looking forward to this "chat." Anyway, I got there pretty early Monday morning, just in time to go grocery shopping with my mom. We stopped at Starbucks and my mom leaned over and grabbed my knee and said, "Me and dad have been praying about this whole thing and God said, 'you love her and that's enough.' So we're gonna leave it at that. We will always love you, no matter what. And that means no "talk."
Needless to say, I was stunned. And relieved. The rest of the trip was great. My mom would ask questions once in awhile but nothing too big a deal. I know they aren't necessarily cool with it but they are trusting me to live my own life. So all in all it turned out good. It has been a good couple weeks. Anyway, track season is upon us, that means no more getting home after 9pm because of practice. Yay!

So Frickin' Busy
So I have been working like crazy lately. Its basketball tourney season for high schools and I have been working lots of tournaments. My guys lost out in divisionals which was very disappointing but there was a lot of pressure on them too, I think it got in their heads. My girls ended up winning divisionals and are going on to State. Crazy! They came out of nowhere to win the Divisional Tourney. Lots of upsets, some very fun games to watch. I think one of my girls tore her ACL. She has a Dr. appt. next Tuesday so we will know for sure. Argh. ACL rehab sucks, but she's a tough kid, she'll pull through. Very frustrating story to go along with that whole story, but I don't wanna get into that now. Last weekend of Tournaments is coming up. I am then heading to see my 'rents. Leaving Saturday. Driving so the pup can come and see his grandma. It will be a nice break from this place I call home. This is one broken up post going in many directions.... Ok then, that is all.

Yay for the Blue Devils!
Ok, so the Duke/UNC game was last night and Duke won by 11 points! It was awesome. They were on fire from downtown, especially Paulus who started out 5 for 5 from beyond the arc and ended up 6 for 8. It was great times! Ok then, that is all!

Randomness and Updates
Hello out there in Blog Land. I apologize to the two people that read my blog that I have been absent. I have had some interesting stuff happen in this past month, here are some updates:
-I am a year older
-My friend from college came out to go snowboarding, and that was an absolute blast
-My boys basketball team upset the #2 ranked team in the state by over 20 points
-My Duke boys are ranked #2, above UNC, yeah buddy!
-The Duke/UNC game is tomorrow night and I am very excited
-I had to give a presentation at work and none of my video clips worked and I had to demonstrate everything
-I am learning how to do sutures (we practice on pigs' feet). I'm pretty darn good.
-I found a beer I like
-I learned that last year a couple of my high school boys peed on one of the senior girl's car
-My high school girls apparently can't even get through pre-game announcements without hurting each other (two of them ran into each other while shaking hands with the refs and one of them got a humongous black eye)
-Watching wrestling for 11.5 hours on a saturday is not my idea of a good time
Well those are the updates for now, I will hopefully be better about blogging this month. Hope all is well with all y'all. Peace for now!
